The Customer

Full Blue Racing – At the start of 2012, Corex Honeycomb became the proud sponsors of the University of Cambridge’s racing team, Full Blue Racing. The team consists of a number of students from the University of Cambridge’s engineering department, and the team has been competing in Formula Student since 2006.

The Challenge

The team required various sizes of aluminium honeycomb to use in the structure of the car, to be constructed to compete in the prestigious Formula Student event. The competition is not just about the race itself – teams are also assessed on the design and manufacture of the car.

The Solution

The strong yet lightweight aluminium honeycomb has been used to improve air flow and has provided crucial support for the team during the development of the vehicle.

The Outcome
